Employment

April 2009–current:

Design manager at Mainspring, a fully integrated brand agency in Sydney's CBD. My role here consists of: working alongside the Creative Director on naming, strategic and visual brand development; single-handedly running the accounts of four key clients; taking all online, offline and exhibition projects from concept to delivery either alone or with team members; planning traffic workflow, budgets and sourcing quotes; hiring freelancers and assisting other designers on all aspects of design.

 

June 2008–April 2009:

Design team leader at KPMG Sydney. My role consisted of art-directing and designing major creative projects, taking them from concept through to delivery; mentoring a team of five designers; working with clients on briefs and building client relations; planning traffic workflow, budgets and sourcing quotes; working with other designers on all aspects of design; and undertaking presentations to educate and inform clients on branding.

 

May 2006–June 2008:

Senior designer at Ross Barr & Associates, a leading Sydney corporate communications agency, working with numerous blue-chip clients including Australand, Stockland and Suncorp. My role here included working both alone and in a team on all aspects of the design process from brainstorms through to production with printers/programmers; day-to-day client liaison and workflow management; mentoring junior designers; advising and negotiating with clients and designers on the correct usage of branding; organisation and presentation of projects in client meetings.

 

February–May 2006:

Designer at Designworks Enterprise IG, Sydney. My role here was as a conceptual designer within a team of six people, working on a number of high-profile branding projects, including Vodafone, Coca-Cola and the Wesley Mission.

 

August 2005–February 2006:

Senior designer at Wardour Communications, London. Based at a client office, UBS, I acted as brand guardian, responsible for the design, project management and production of all the client’s major work, as well as overseeing other designers involved. This work ranged from brochures, advertising, direct mail and exhibitions, to joint ventures with other companies such as the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO) and the Tate Galleries.

 

April 2003–August 2005:

Senior designer at the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development), London. My responsibilities included: taking projects from concept, through artwork, to final print; art direction; liaising with clients and printers; advising and managing other designers in the team.

 

May 1998–April 2003:

Designer at Abstract Graphics, London. Here I worked on a variety of projects including branding, direct mail, brochures, and the design and programming of websites.
